Nearly 30 teams have made their way to the Granite State to take part in the United Tier 1 Hockey League Fall showcase! Everyone who attended Day 1 is asking themselves will this be the weekend of the "comeback kids". If the rest of the weekend is anything like today. We know that no lead is safe.

Cyclones Arena (Huson, NH)

U16 Somang Academy 3 v 2 NH Avalanche SS F/SO

In the game of the day. The NH Avalanche U16 SS were deadlocked at 1-1 late in the third vs Somang. It was Grady Chretien who scored with only 1:07 left in regulation.  But the game was long from over! With only 0.05 seconds left in regulation, Somang's Loric Gilson  banged in a rebound to send the game to a shootout.  After 7 rounds of shooters Somang's Vincent Duquett scored the winner in Shootout.  U16 Somang Academy 3 v 2 NH Avalanche SS F/SO

U18 NE Generals 6 v 5 NH Avalanche SS F/SO

The NE Generals capped off a 4 goal 2nd half to send themselves and the NH Avalanche split into yet another shootout, where the team that trailed for most of the game, were victorious. In the end, it was NE Generals forward #89 Musella (2G) who netted  the shootout winner.

ICE Den (Hooksett, NH)

U18 NH Avalanche FS 4 v 1 Somang F

The first game at the Ice Den Arena in Hooksett, saw Somang Academy take on the hometown New Hampshire Avalanche.  After a back and forth opening half the hometown team took control of the second frame. U16 NH Avalanche FS 2 v 1 VT Flames F

Vermont opened the scoring in the second half on a beautiful breakaway goal by Dubois Mathieu.  The avalanche jumped right back to tie the game on a great glove shot by defenseman Nick Calandra.  After some back and forth action the Avalanche took the lead on a point shot by Evan Mccuaig.  The Flames made an unsuccessful push to tie the game up in the last minute of play.

U14 VT Flames 7 v 0 NE Wolves  F

The Vermont Flames were on fire “no pun intended” closing out Day 1 action shutting out the New England Wolves. 6 different scorers made the scoresheet in the Victory.

Saint Anselms (Manchester, NH)

U14 NH Avalanche 9 v 1 Somang F

Brady Chapman (1G 3A) & Zach Famiglietti (2G2A) lead the way for NH Avalanche U14 as they were to much to handle for Somang in Day 1.
